Technology FAQ
Q: How does ALGEBRAIX technology make accessing business intelligence faster?
A: The improvement in the rate at which data can be randomly accessed from disk has not kept pace with the improvements in processor speed, memory speed, nor disk capacity.
So, to run queries fast on big data, any system must overcome the inherent technology bottlenecks. There are several primary techniques for doing so, including partitioning, pre-sorting, and pre-aggregating the data. Such methods minimize the transfer of unneeded data, and minimize the need to move the read/write heads during data transfers. Many analytical databases and appliances make use of some or all of these techniques, but generally require an expert to identify where and how to apply them.
ALGEBRAIX technology makes it easier.
Our product, Algebraix Data A2DB, continuously identifies opportunities to use these techniques, and applies them automatically, based upon observed query patterns, without the need for human experts.
In addition, the powerful ALGEBRAIX mathematical model enables an unprecedented level of reuse of prior query results and produces highly refined query optimizations virtually unachievable in conventional systems.
