How It Works

ALGEBRAIX® technology harnesses the power of extended set mathematics and frees your data from the confines of inflexible and inefficient traditional relational database implementations while taking full advantage of modern computer architectures. No Restructuring or Indexing Required

By not requiring that data be restructured or indexed prior to use, ALGEBRAIX technology provides you with instant access to your data. The technology is uniquely able to mathematically model and relate both:

• the logical and physical representation of data in a formal mathematical way through the application of extend set mathematics and
• the software’s ability to operate on “native” data formats.

This unique capability also greatly simplifies the load process typically associated with analytic relational databases by not preprocessing the data prior to access or building additional data structures prior to use.

Uses Extended Set Algebraic Technology

Through the application of advanced extended set algebraic techniques and parallel processing, the need to manually tune database access is eliminated. For better performance and ease of use, our unique software:

• monitors the query patterns of all users,
• adaptively restructures data and
• adjusts access methods to provide orders of magnitude.

Organizing the data in persistent storage for highly efficient access and performing result set calculation in the most efficient means possible based on the query.

Through the application of these techniques, highly efficient access is maintained, even as data, query and usage patterns change across multiple applications and users.

Maintains Model of Data in Time

ALGEBRAIX technology also provides capabilities not found in other analytic relational databases. This includes the ability to 1) roll back the database to any point in time and 2) answer queries as if they were asked in the past.

The technology is uniquely capable to maintain a model of the data as it existed at any point in time, because it includes the time of creation as a component of all data sets. This enables it to:

• maintain a universe of extended set algebraic expressions relating them
• preserve all data sets and
• treat insert, update and delete operations as new information, not instructions to alter the data.

Schema Agnostic Software Runs on Commodity Servers

All of these significant advantages are made available through industry-standard interfaces such as ODBC, JDBC and ADO using familiar SQL syntax, which allows immediate use by a wide variety of third-party and custom applications.

ALGEBRAIX technology is available via our software, Algebraix Data A2DB, for both LINUX and Microsoft Windows 64-bit platforms and runs on conventional commodity hardware, providing a familiar and easily integrated package.
