ALGEBRAIX Technology
Technology to Close the Analytics Gap
Enterprises strive to be data-driven, creating vast stores of data and investing billions of dollars in software, but the available tools are insufficient to take them very far regardless of how much they are willing to invest. The limiting factor is the amount of resources available to design, build, maintain, extend and integrate their analytic and Business Intelligence applications using conventional data-management technologies.
The principal cause of this economic impasse is that conventional technologies are unable to manage enterprise data in all of its natural formats, the least common of which is so-called “structured” data. This unfortunate reality has given rise to the “Analytics Gap” – i.e., the growing gap between the total volume of enterprise data and the portion that can be analyzed with conventional data-management systems.
ALGEBRAIX technology was developed to close this Analytics Gap.
The Great Enabler: Mathematical Equivalence
Mathematics is the universal language of engineering. So it makes perfect sense that mathematics is the key to unifying data management across different data structures. Using mathematical equivalence, ALGEBRAIX technology creates a veritable Rosetta Stone for managing enterprise data across different data structures.
By enabling automatic “round-tripping” between different data structures – i.e., bidirectional translations between any regular well-defined data structure and any different but mathematically equivalent data structure, ALGEBRAIX technology eliminates the costly and time-consuming programming now required to transform enterprise data from one structure to another for use by conventional data-management systems.
For example, electronic documents stored as hierarchical XML data structures can be presented to, and manipulated by, relational database applications as mathematically equivalent relational data tables. Similarly, data stored as relational data tables can be presented to, and manipulated by, XML-based applications as mathematically equivalent XML documents.
A Universal Data Model
The rigorous mathematics underlying ALGEBRAIX technology provides a Universal Data Model (UDM) that can model any regular well-defined data structure. As such, the UDM provides the technological breakthrough needed for data-management systems to manage enterprise data across a multiplicity of different data structures.
Enabling the Future, Today
ALGEBRAIX technology eliminates much of the work of building and maintaining analytic applications thereby speeding time-to-delivery and return on investment. Now, enterprise analytic applications can be extended across all enterprise data independently of its data formats. It’s a brave new world for enterprise data.
